Adrenaline in nature

In our surroundings there are several of the most famous ravines of the Pyrenees, with different levels of difficulty, such as: Barranco del Furco (Broto), Garganta de las Gloces (Fanlo), Barranco del Sorrosal (Broto), Barranco de La Pazosa (San Nicolás de Bujaruelo).
In spring, with the snow melting, between Torla and Broto you can enjoy the most spectacular rafting descent down the Ara, the last wild river in the Pyrenees. It is essential to be of legal age, know how to swim and be in good physical shape.
There are alternatives in the lower reaches of the river to enjoy with the family.
Length of the walls between 200 and 400 meters. Duration of 7 to 10 hours of climbing plus the descent. It is possible to do routes of several days bivouacking on ledges or hammocks.
In the Broto Valley and its surroundings there are also sport climbing areas of between 15 and 30 meters of all grades and fully equipped.
The importance of natural caves worldwide is such that the area is considered the Himalaya of caving: Cueva del Moro (Molino de Aso), Cueva Granito, Cueva Malapreciata Manatuero.
Broto is in the center of the Valley where four large landscape areas converge (Ordesa, Bujaruelo, Valle Vio and Sobrepuerto), which makes it the ideal starting and ending point for many mountain bike routes, which cover places of unparalleled beauty. all levels, both physical and technical.

4x4 excursions

Reaching the most inaccessible places

On these excursions you will be able to take a high-altitude ride in all-terrain vehicles, and comfortably access the Ordesa viewpoints. Located at around 2000 meters above sea level, they open onto an exceptional panoramic view of the Ordesa Valley and its peaks: Monte Perdido, Casco, Marboré, Taillón…
There are also routes through the Bujaruelo valley, on its Otal and Ordiso slopes.

Although mushroom collecting is not permitted within the National Park, in the surrounding Valleys we find a multitude of Habitats, Forests and Grasslands, ideal for finding a Great Variety of Mushrooms: Boletus, Robellón, Trompetillas, Lengua de Vaca… To publicize the World of Mushrooms, throughout the Autumn, various Mycological Days are held in the Region.

Fishing

Wild fishing areas

The Ara River, as it does not present artificial regulation of its flows, provides the fisherman with unique natural conditions. Fishing for common trout is allowed, in the form of fly fishing with a rat tail or mosquito with a buoy with a maximum of four per rig.
Characteristics of fishing permits:
  • To be able to fish in a social reserve you need a fishing permit.
  • The permit is personal and non-transferable. If you cannot use it, you cannot transfer your rights to another fisherman or claim a refund of the permit amount.
  • For each social fishing reserve, a single quota of permits is established, to which all interested fishermen can opt, paying the amount indicated in the corresponding tables.
  • This permit is issued by the Provincial Environment Service and by the OCAs.

A Geopark is a territory with a unique geological heritage that has a strategy for its sustainable development. The Geoparks constitute a voluntary association of free cooperation sponsored by UNESCO. Since September 2006, Sobrarbe has been part of this association. The Sobrarbe region is characterized by a great diversity of terrain and geological structures.
The Architectural Heritage of the Ordesa National Park Surroundings is very extensive, being able to find everything from Megalithic constructions, such as the Tella Dolmen, to beautiful Medieval Villas, such as Oto, Ainsa, Abizanda… The Romanesque was also very widespread in the area. , where you can find Jewels of the Lombard Era such as Muro de Roda, Toledo de la Nata, Santa María de Ainsa or La Ruta de las 4 Hermitas de Tella.
And, of course, the Popular Architecture that spreads from Caserones de Piedra to the abundant small towns of the Region, some of them abandoned due to the construction of Marshes, such as Jánovas, Lavelilla and Lacort.
In the Sobrarbe region you can witness various traditions and festivals throughout the year:
